Rock rods have been used in sea fishing for a long time: coastal fishing, reef fishing, pier, breakwater fishing, etc., and also used for boat fishing. The rock poles we usually use are light rock poles. Its own attributes, such as the rod body is slender, flexible, and has a reel. A variety of fishing methods can be implemented, and it can be used as a hand rod for fishing or as a sea rod for fishing. In recent years, rock rods have become more and more widely used in freshwater fishing. I have been in the rock fishing lake library for 8 years. I deeply understand the advantages of rock fishing, and I am willing to communicate with fishermen.
1. Implementation space of rock fishing
Fishing with a rock rod is not as light, flexible and fast as fishing with a hand rod. The rock rod is indeed a bit heavy, and sometimes it is troublesome to wrap the wire due to the many wire loops, but in some specific cases, the rock rod can play its advantages. For example, the rock rod has a variety of fishing modes, the fish has a great grasp, the fish is strong, and it can be fished far and near, which is incomparable with the hand rod. In which scenario mode is it better to use the rock pole?
1. High platform fishing. A river flowing through my city is blocked with rubber dams or stone dams to form a continuous pond, with a larger water surface no less than a small reservoir. The berms on both sides of the river are more than two meters above the water surface, and there are all kinds of fish in the pond, many of which are more than ten pounds. Once the big fish hits the hook, it is difficult to control the rod on the high platform. Using the rock rod can release the line, keep the angle of the fishing rod rising, and the fish is very stable. It takes less than half a cigarette to subdue a fish of three or four kilograms. Fish guard.
2. Shoal fishing. The mid-spring fish rush to the beach, and the water near the shore is very shallow. Although the fish can enjoy the sun here, the fish are still in the deeper water area away from the shore out of a sense of security. The pole and whip are beyond the reach of the hand, but the rock pole fishing can show its talents, and throw it far away to reach the nest of the fish. The far throw of the rock pole is better than the throw of the hand pole with a length of six or seven meters.
3. Long-distance fishing in deep water. After the winter, the cold air keeps coming, and the water temperature keeps dropping. Every time the temperature drops, the fish take a step back towards the deep water and gradually move to the deep water area, where the water temperature is relatively high and stable. In early spring, the frozen water surface has just melted, the temperature is warm and cold, the water temperature in the upper layer is close to freezing point, and the water temperature in the deep water area is slightly higher and stable. During this period, the water was absorbing heat and releasing air-conditioning. It was the time of "pulling bones in spring and pulling meat in autumn", and the fish were still living in deep water. On a bright sunny day, they may float to bask in the sun, and they will not go to shallow waters. When the winter and spring fish are in the deep water area, they can only look at the fish and sigh, and go to the deep water to find fish.
4. Catch big fish. Go fishing in reservoirs where big fish are often hooked. It is difficult to compete with big fish with a rod, and there are frequent incidents of running fish. I often hear fishermen say "Today I ran and caught ×", and some said "Today." The light ran off the fish, and I didn't bring any of them, I was mad at me!" . It is a great luck to have a big fish visit. Some people may not meet once in their life. If they run away, that regret will not only affect the mood of fishing, but may also leave a lifetime of regret! Why don't you use a rock rod for fishing in this kind of reservoir! ?
5. Encountered a big fish. In the spring and summer, the spawning period of crucian carp and carp is similar. When fishing for crucian carp, carp grass is often hooked. When fishing with crucian carp line group, it suddenly encounters big fish. Make sure not to run away. In particular, the large grass carp reacts quickly, swims fast, and has a lot of energy. As soon as you lifted the rod, it was too late, but it was too late. An arrow shot out of your control range, and before you could react to the next action, the fish had already escaped. If fishing with a rock rod, adjust the drag force well, and the reel can release the line when the fish is outside, I am afraid this big fish will be doomed.
There are also some cases, such as fish on a long pole, people around you use long poles of more than 6 meters, and you only have a pole of 5.4 meters, so you can only look at the fish and sigh; a section of water is full of fish. , you choose a seat on the bank that is a little recessed, and you can only sit behind others. The fishing rod of the same length is two meters shorter than others. At this time, you should think of the rock rod. Fishing at a certain time and in certain lakes and reservoirs, it is never a disadvantage to bring a rock rod.
2. The hardware of fishing tackle
1. Rod. Most of the fishing gear shops sell light rock rods with a length of 3.6 to 5.4 meters. I personally think that a rock rod of 4.5 meters is more suitable. The 3.6m pole is too short, and the pole is slow to start when it is far and drifting; 5.4m is longer, not only slightly heavier, but sometimes it is inconvenient to throw the pole due to environmental influences, and it is laborious and inaccurate to throw the pole in the wind and crosswind. When choosing a rod, choose a rod that is light in weight, has a firm tip, and has a flexible waist. When the rod tip is pulled down, the overall kissing arc of the rod is graceful and round, and there is no prominent sharp bend. Some rod tips suddenly give back soft feedback, and the big fish on such rods are easy to break.
2. Reel. The quality of the wheel must be good. Don't be too big, the big wheel is too stupid and uncoordinated, the small wheel is not enough to store the line, and the reeling is slow, which is not conducive to walking the fish. The gapless spinning wheel type 3000 is the best.
3. Line. 2.5~3.5 size medium and high-quality nylon rubber thread, the size of the sight wheel is full (not too full). The rock pole can be thrown as far as 20 meters away, and the amount of line is enough to catch 20 pounds of fish.
4. Float. When fishing close, use a Taiwan fishing float, and when throwing far, use a thick tail float, which is determined according to the throwing distance and vision. Sometimes it can be used as an integral float or rod-shaped float with a blow-molded belt tail. The large floating pendant is beneficial to long-distance throwing and positioning, and the tail thickness has high visibility. Once I went fishing in a reservoir, the good fishing spots were filled with hand rods and rows of sea rods. After half a circle, I had to locate in a shoal. Because the water near the shore is too shallow, we can only use rock rods for drift fishing, and the throwing distance is more than 20 meters. Since the drift tail is not thick enough and it is in the backlight position, the drift tail signal cannot be seen clearly, so raise the waterline until the drift body is exposed by two centimeters to see the signal clearly.
5. Hook. Depends on the size of the fish caught. My hooks may violate the principle of "small hooks and thin lines". I use larger hooks. If the bait ball is the size of a bean, it can be packed with hooks 3, 4, and 5. I use the hook of size 5, which is the size of peanuts. The bait can pack 5 to 10 hooks, I may use a 9 or 10 hook. Hooking the brain line is thick, but I don't panic when I hit the big fish. When the hook is too large, some small fish can be screened out, eliminating the trouble of catching fish by hand, picking fish and releasing them.
